HISTORY
A Profile Of Service To The Society
The Institution has
been established to perpetuate the memory of Late Sant Pandit Nischal Singh
Ji Maharaj. Sant Ji born on 18th April 1882 at Mitha Tiwana, Distt Sargodha,
now in West Pakistan received his education at Varanasi, Kashi and later at
Haridwar where he studied Sanskrit He was thus called Pandit by Bhai
Jawahar Singh Ji . Post turmoil of partition Sant Ji moved to Yamuna Nagar.
A true disciple of Bhai Kanahiya Ji, Sant Nischal Singh Ji Maharaj is
epitome of service to humanity. A firm believer that social upliftment can
take place only through education, Sant Ji established various institutions.
True to the sprit of Bhai Kanahiya Ji's teachings, a number of hospitals and
dispensaries were also set up by him to provide succor to cross section of
the society and alleviate human suffering.
It was a long cherished dream of
Sant Ji to establish a Public School in Yamuna Nagar which would provide
quality education. Sant Ji passed away on 22 Aug 1978. It thus fell upon his
devotees to give a concrete shape to Sant J's dream.
Sant Nischal Singh Memorial
Trust was set up with Sant Tarlochan Singh Ji as President. The Governing
body was constituted under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Waryam Singh Ji as
the Chairman, Mr. Jagdish Anand (Managing Director Gabriel), Bhai Mohan
Singh Ji (Chairman Ranbaxy), S. Inderjit Singh Ji (Chairman Punjab & Sind
Bank) and Sardar Harbans Singh as founding members of the first board of
Governors.
